Narrative:

Upon taxi out at phx had a long wait for traffic. Before takeoff checklist was held until the end of the runway where we picked up the checklist 3/4 of the way through omitting the first part. As we took the runway for takeoff the mistake was caught and we taxied clear, completed the checklist and resumed our place in line for takeoff. Both of us were very tired after a 24 hour layover and poor rest. This fatigue led to our not completing the checklist.
