Narrative:

ATC reported VFR aircraft at same altitude, 14000 ft, at 12 O'clock. Aircraft is spotted at about 3 mi with parachuters jumping through the clouds. An immediate left turn is made to avoid the aircraft. During the turn, the TCASII issues a TA and then goes off. A turn was advised to ATC to avoid traffic with a constant sighting of VFR aircraft. No further problems. VFR aircraft was flying between layers of clouds, the visibility was about 10 mi. The time frame from the notification of the VFR aircraft to the actual turn to avoid the plane was about 5 seconds.

Title: AN ACR DC9 FLC WAS ADVISED BY ARTCC CTLR THAT A VFR ACFT WAS AHEAD AT THEIR ALT. THE FLC SEES THE ACFT DROPPING SKYDIVERS AND EVADE WITH A MINIMUM SEPARATION OF 3 MI.

Narrative: ATC RPTED VFR ACFT AT SAME ALT, 14000 FT, AT 12 O'CLOCK. ACFT IS SPOTTED AT ABOUT 3 MI WITH PARACHUTERS JUMPING THROUGH THE CLOUDS. AN IMMEDIATE LEFT TURN IS MADE TO AVOID THE ACFT. DURING THE TURN, THE TCASII ISSUES A TA AND THEN GOES OFF. A TURN WAS ADVISED TO ATC TO AVOID TFC WITH A CONSTANT SIGHTING OF VFR ACFT. NO FURTHER PROBS. VFR ACFT WAS FLYING BTWN LAYERS OF CLOUDS, THE VISIBILITY WAS ABOUT 10 MI. THE TIME FRAME FROM THE NOTIFICATION OF THE VFR ACFT TO THE ACTUAL TURN TO AVOID THE PLANE WAS ABOUT 5 SECONDS.
