Narrative:
On landing rollout at boi, runway 28L, on jun/xa/97 at XA18 local, we were informed that landing clearance was for runway 28R. There was a light aircraft on downwind south of the field and no other traffic. Our pairing for june was geg-boi, and all month runway 28R had been closed to jet traffic or closed for construction. To enhance safety and aircrew awareness, when a parallel runway is newly opened, I recommend landing clearance include verification from both tower and flight crew of 'actual' landing runway. Supplemental information from acn 372807: acrs having 'landing clearance' as a challenge/response checklist item should require PNF to respond with 'cleared to land, runway, and city' to reinforce proper confirmation.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: LGT ACFT CLRED TO LAND ON R PARALLEL RWY, WHICH HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY CLOSED ALL MONTH, FLC LANDED ON THE L PARALLEL. RPTRS STATE THAT WHEN A RWY HAS BEEN CLOSED IT WOULD BE GOOD PROC FOR BOTH TWR AND FLC TO CONFIRM THE PROPER RWY.
Narrative: ON LNDG ROLLOUT AT BOI, RWY 28L, ON JUN/XA/97 AT XA18 LCL, WE WERE INFORMED THAT LNDG CLRNC WAS FOR RWY 28R. THERE WAS A LIGHT ACFT ON DOWNWIND S OF THE FIELD AND NO OTHER TFC. OUR PAIRING FOR JUNE WAS GEG-BOI, AND ALL MONTH RWY 28R HAD BEEN CLOSED TO JET TFC OR CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION. TO ENHANCE SAFETY AND AIRCREW AWARENESS, WHEN A PARALLEL RWY IS NEWLY OPENED, I RECOMMEND LNDG CLRNC INCLUDE VERIFICATION FROM BOTH TWR AND FLC OF 'ACTUAL' LNDG RWY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 372807: ACRS HAVING 'LNDG CLRNC' AS A CHALLENGE/RESPONSE CHKLIST ITEM SHOULD REQUIRE PNF TO RESPOND WITH 'CLRED TO LAND, RWY, AND CITY' TO REINFORCE PROPER CONFIRMATION.
