Narrative:

Returning from last event, we flew underneath the eastern edge of the ord TCA at about 250 KIAS. During mission debrief, the topic of airspeed limits under a TCA came up and we found we may have exceeded the applicable limits. After 3.2 has at 250 KIAS while flying 1000 ft AGL over land at 500-700 ft AGL over the water (lake michigan) I didn't think about the speed restrs. Maneuvering closer to the shoreline east of chicago when returning from the last fly-over in indiana to avoid rain showers over lake michigan put us west of our intended straight line course and put us under the lateral limits of the TCA which was not planned. We should have had a better idea of the implications of maneuvering west of course and should have remembered the speed restrs.

Title: A MIL TRANSPORT FLC FLEW UNDER THE ORD CLASS B FLOOR AT 250 KIAS IN VIOLATION OF SPD RESTRS. ERROR ADMITTED.

Narrative: RETURNING FROM LAST EVENT, WE FLEW UNDERNEATH THE EASTERN EDGE OF THE ORD TCA AT ABOUT 250 KIAS. DURING MISSION DEBRIEF, THE TOPIC OF AIRSPD LIMITS UNDER A TCA CAME UP AND WE FOUND WE MAY HAVE EXCEEDED THE APPLICABLE LIMITS. AFTER 3.2 HAS AT 250 KIAS WHILE FLYING 1000 FT AGL OVER LAND AT 500-700 FT AGL OVER THE WATER (LAKE MICHIGAN) I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT THE SPD RESTRS. MANEUVERING CLOSER TO THE SHORELINE E OF CHICAGO WHEN RETURNING FROM THE LAST FLY-OVER IN INDIANA TO AVOID RAIN SHOWERS OVER LAKE MICHIGAN PUT US W OF OUR INTENDED STRAIGHT LINE COURSE AND PUT US UNDER THE LATERAL LIMITS OF THE TCA WHICH WAS NOT PLANNED. WE SHOULD HAVE HAD A BETTER IDEA OF THE IMPLICATIONS OF MANEUVERING W OF COURSE AND SHOULD HAVE REMEMBERED THE SPD RESTRS.
