Narrative:
Right outboard landing light was inoperative due to other deferred item for fuel tank leak at #8 flap track fairing. Fuel item was on different write-up than the outboard landing light. I inadvertently misunderstood the write-up on the outboard landing light, and changed the landing light, and cleared the deferred without fixing the fuel leak.
Original NASA ASRS Text

Narrative: R OUTBOARD LNDG LIGHT WAS INOP DUE TO OTHER DEFERRED ITEM FOR FUEL TANK LEAK AT #8 FLAP TRACK FAIRING. FUEL ITEM WAS ON DIFFERENT WRITE-UP THAN THE OUTBOARD LNDG LIGHT.
