Narrative:

While cruising at 2800 ft MSL, a mooney passed off my left, within a wing length and at the same altitude and traveling in the same direction. (Tail numbers overheard on radio a few mins later when the mooney landed at meigs.) my airspeed was 115 mph and the mooney was significantly faster -- possibly 200-215 mph. Postflt check revealed that my belly-strobe was working properly, which is visible from behind the aircraft. The tail-navigation light worked also, but I am not certain whether I had the navigation lights on. I normally do day and night.
