Narrative:

In VFR conditions at 9000 ft MSL, the #1 engine oil low pressure alerts illuminated. The engine was shut down as per the emergency checklist. Cabin crew was notified and passenger informed of the precautionary engine shutdown. We declared an emergency with approach control and were cleared to land. We landed single engine and taxied to the gate.
