Narrative:

Our flight was delayed by over 1 hour and our aircraft had just come in from mex. Customs and INS seemed to really slow down the process. We were concentrating on several other maintenance items and getting off the gate that we missed an open logbook item. The open item was not to my knowledge called in by the previous crew. The item was left landing light inoperative. We did not discover our mistake until we were at cruising altitude.
