Narrative:
Landed gear up after total electrical failure in C310C, binding of manual gear crank handle and inability to lower gear in spite of multiple attempts. Cannot locate medical certificate, am uncertain if it is still valid (maybe expired). Appointment was made for re-examination and out-of-date by about 1 month at the most. Considerations: confusion of special recent revision of applicable regulations, regarding: duration of certificate validity, age requirements for mandated intervals between exams. I was given a special flight test for medical purposes (was in car accident) and didn't read date certificate was issued. Have never been asked for certificate by FBO renting plane to me or by FBO used more frequently. This is my responsibility, but is it possible to get a reminder of due date? I get one for car license, my driver's license gets checked fairly often for identify and checks, but I never look at my medical certificate.
