Narrative:

Flight plan was from dlh-msp, filed at FL220. We were given intermediate leveloff at FL180. Upon reaching that altitude, we reset altimeters from 29.16 to 29.92. Our altimeters showed FL187. PNF asked if this (FL180) was our final. He responded that FL180 was our final altitude. We corrected back down to FL180. A few mins later, the controller asked our altitude and I responded 'FL180, 29.92.' he responded 'roger.' would have been a good idea to have anticipated the barometric change earlier. Supplemental information from acn 381508: leveling at FL180, on climb out from dlh, with an altimeter setting of 29.16, ATC asked our altitude when our altimeters were reset to 29.92.
