Narrative:
During boarding at gsp notified aft cargo door would not open. Decision was made (by gsp station manager) to leave it closed and return to atlanta with bags still in bin. During the rush to pushback no logbook write-up was made. Write up was entered at the gate in atlanta. Chief pilot notified after the event.

Title: AN MD88 WAS DISPATCHED WITH AN AFT CARGO DOOR INOP CLOSED AND NO LOGBOOK WRITE-UP OR DEFERRED ITEM.
Narrative: DURING BOARDING AT GSP NOTIFIED AFT CARGO DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. DECISION WAS MADE (BY GSP STATION MGR) TO LEAVE IT CLOSED AND RETURN TO ATLANTA WITH BAGS STILL IN BIN. DURING THE RUSH TO PUSHBACK NO LOGBOOK WRITE-UP WAS MADE. WRITE UP WAS ENTERED AT THE GATE IN ATLANTA. CHIEF PLT NOTIFIED AFTER THE EVENT.
