Narrative:
While circling around a high school, I lost my altitude awareness and descended to 1000 ft MSL for a few moments. I made 3 circles around high school and left area. As soon as I regained situational awareness, I immediately regained my altitude to 1500 ft. Upon returning to nel, I became aware that the manchester police department was called and in turn called nel base operations. Total time for flight was .6 hours on the hobbs. Human performance considerations: concentration on outside of cockpit. Non sterile cockpit -- was talking to passenger. Lack of experience.

Title: C172 PVT PLT 'FLAT HATTED' A HIGH SCHOOL AND DSNDED AS LOW AS 500 FT. UPON RETURN TO HOME ARPT WAS ADVISED TO CONTACT POLICE.
Narrative: WHILE CIRCLING AROUND A HIGH SCHOOL, I LOST MY ALT AWARENESS AND DSNDED TO 1000 FT MSL FOR A FEW MOMENTS. I MADE 3 CIRCLES AROUND HIGH SCHOOL AND LEFT AREA.
