Narrative:
I was taking off from runway 19 (grass) at (C52) in a J3 carrying a passenger. I did have a hand-held radio but was not using it. (I'm not certain if it was functioning.) this is a rental plane with no electrical system, generally flown with no radio. The view from the beginning of runway 19 toward the approach end of runway 29 is obscured by buildings. After looking, I saw no traffic and took off into a direct 10 KT headwind, becoming quickly airborne. As I crossed over runway 29 I saw the C421 which had just landed cross beneath me. (The twin crossed slightly behind and approximately 100 ft beneath.) had I still been on the ground, there might have been a collision. I should have tested and used the radio which was available. I could have begun my takeoff at the intersection. I am now aware of a blind spot which I will avoid (and be cautious of when in the position of the landing twin).

Title: A PA J3 CUB TKOF WITHOUT RADIO CONTACT CAUSES IT TO COME CLOSE TO A LNDG CE421 THAT WAS NOT VISIBLE TO THE J3 BEFORE TKOF ROLL BEGAN.
