Narrative:
Flew aircraft in from atl and was scheduled to continue flight to lax. On preflight atl, noticed forward ceiling lights for cabin circuit breaker popped. Reset circuit breaker without incident. Upon arrival in msy, so noted #2 engine oil quantity dropped 1 1/2 gals on flight leg. Although it was just above dispatch level, so suggested it be topped off prior 3+ hour leg to lax. Person servicing aircraft found oil cap off and dangling by its retainer chain. Then also at gate sparks came out of ceiling lights and popped circuit breaker. Maintenance found wire insulation had worn off wires and was arcing to metal bracket above ceiling over rows xx and yy. Then APU died at gate for no apparent reason. First 2 discrepancies fixed and APU put on mco (maintenance carry over).
