Narrative:
I was handed off from approach to pwm tower on a close in right downwind to runway 18 at pwm. The tower cleared me to land on runway 18. They then told me to hold short of runway 11. I acknowledged this and landed on runway 18 at a higher than normal rate due to the close in downwind which I was assigned. I started hard braking but I did not want to lock my brakes or blow a tire and loss of control. It was too late to go around, so I continued brake pumping. I passed the hold line on runway 18 but came to a stop. The tower instructed me to continue through the intersection to turn off at the end because the B737 had stopped and had turned off the runway 11 before the intersection. I stopped before the runway intersection so there was no incursion on the intersecting runway.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: PLT OF A BEECH A36, FAILED TO STOP SHORT OF INTERSECTING RWY SPECIFIED BY TWR DURING LNDG DUE TO HIGHER THAN NORMAL LNDG SPD. HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO CONFLICT SINCE OTHER TFC HAD ALREADY CLRED THE INTERSECTING RWY.
Narrative: I WAS HANDED OFF FROM APCH TO PWM TWR ON A CLOSE IN RIGHT DOWNWIND TO RWY 18 AT PWM. THE TWR CLRED ME TO LAND ON RWY 18. THEY THEN TOLD ME TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 11. I ACKNOWLEDGED THIS AND LANDED ON RWY 18 AT A HIGHER THAN NORMAL RATE DUE TO THE CLOSE IN DOWNWIND WHICH I WAS ASSIGNED. I STARTED HARD BRAKING BUT I DID NOT WANT TO LOCK MY BRAKES OR BLOW A TIRE AND LOSS OF CTL. IT WAS TOO LATE TO GAR, SO I CONTINUED BRAKE PUMPING. I PASSED THE HOLD LINE ON RWY 18 BUT CAME TO A STOP. THE TWR INSTRUCTED ME TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE INTXN TO TURN OFF AT THE END BECAUSE THE B737 HAD STOPPED AND HAD TURNED OFF THE RWY 11 BEFORE THE INTXN. I STOPPED BEFORE THE RWY INTXN SO THERE WAS NO INCURSION ON THE INTERSECTING RWY.
