Narrative:

C150 departed 9k4. A VFR flight plan was filed with columbia flight service from 9k4-H47, with 1 pilot on board and no passenger. The flight plan was activated shortly after departure, whiteman approach was also contacted for VFR flight following. Approximately 7-10 mi northeast of whiteman air force base engine began to sputter. The engine lost 400-500 RPM and made a very loud noise, then returned to normal operation. A precautionary landing was selected as the best course of action and an emergency was declared with whiteman approach. Received immediate clearance to land on runway 19 at whiteman air force base. The aircraft was landed without further incident.

Title: PLT OF A C150 DIVERTED TO LAND AFTER THE ENG LOST PARTIAL PWR AND THEN MADE A LOUD BANG AND STARTED RUNNING NORMALLY AGAIN.

Narrative: C150 DEPARTED 9K4. A VFR FLT PLAN WAS FILED WITH COLUMBIA FLT SVC FROM 9K4-H47, WITH 1 PLT ON BOARD AND NO PAX. THE FLT PLAN WAS ACTIVATED SHORTLY AFTER DEP, WHITEMAN APCH WAS ALSO CONTACTED FOR VFR FLT FOLLOWING. APPROX 7-10 MI NE OF WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE ENG BEGAN TO SPUTTER. THE ENG LOST 400-500 RPM AND MADE A VERY LOUD NOISE, THEN RETURNED TO NORMAL OP. A PRECAUTIONARY LNDG WAS SELECTED AS THE BEST COURSE OF ACTION AND AN EMER WAS DECLARED WITH WHITEMAN APCH. RECEIVED IMMEDIATE CLRNC TO LAND ON RWY 19 AT WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE. THE ACFT WAS LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
