Narrative:
During taxi to gate we missed a turn on taxiway B and wound up approaching runway 31R at jfk on taxiway ea. We held short of runway 31R which had just been opened for landing. We had landed on runway 22L. I believe this event occurred due to the following: during the descent we copied the jfk ATIS. The winds were 280 degrees 15 KTS gusting 25 KTS. The landing runway was runway 22L. We asked for runway 31L/right due to the winds. ATC told us no, unless we wanted a 30+ min delay. As we were on final approach we heard tower inform other aircraft of a runway change to runway 31L/right. So here we are one of the last aircraft to land on runway 22L/right and now they're changing to runway 31L/right. An ensuing frustration with the system allowed us to be distracted enough to miss the turn and wind up near an active runway.

Title: FLC OF WDB TAXIES ON WRONG TXWY WHEN DISTRACTED BECAUSE OF LNDG ON RWY NOT INTO THE WIND AND THEN HEARING THE RWY IS CHANGED.
Narrative: DURING TAXI TO GATE WE MISSED A TURN ON TXWY B AND WOUND UP APCHING RWY 31R AT JFK ON TXWY EA. WE HELD SHORT OF RWY 31R WHICH HAD JUST BEEN OPENED FOR LNDG. WE HAD LANDED ON RWY 22L. I BELIEVE THIS EVENT OCCURRED DUE TO THE FOLLOWING: DURING THE DSCNT WE COPIED THE JFK ATIS. THE WINDS WERE 280 DEGS 15 KTS GUSTING 25 KTS. THE LNDG RWY WAS RWY 22L. WE ASKED FOR RWY 31L/R DUE TO THE WINDS. ATC TOLD US NO, UNLESS WE WANTED A 30+ MIN DELAY. AS WE WERE ON FINAL APCH WE HEARD TWR INFORM OTHER ACFT OF A RWY CHANGE TO RWY 31L/R. SO HERE WE ARE ONE OF THE LAST ACFT TO LAND ON RWY 22L/R AND NOW THEY'RE CHANGING TO RWY 31L/R. AN ENSUING FRUSTRATION WITH THE SYS ALLOWED US TO BE DISTRACTED ENOUGH TO MISS THE TURN AND WIND UP NEAR AN ACTIVE RWY.
