Narrative:
I erroneously taxied through a marked closed taxiway at cle on the morning of oct/xa/97. On clearance to land, I followed an airliner landing on runway 23L and landed on runway 23R, turning off to the left on taxiway K. I was instructed to hold on taxiway K at runway 23L, did so, and so reported. I was then instructed to cross runway 23L and I proceeded directly across runway 23L and onto the closed taxiway because I thought that I had been so instructed. I believe that her instructions indicated that the closed taxiway was taxiway K and that it was my designated route. I was new to cle and was unaware of the adjacent taxiway K. The controller could have called and turned me left onto taxiway K to stop my entry into the closed taxiway. She did not. I then turned right onto taxiway left as instructed. I entered the ramp where I parked. This was my first visit. I was told to call the tower and did so.

Title: THE PLT OF AN SMA TAXIED ONTO A CLOSED TXWY AFTER XING RWY 23L AT CLE. THE RPTR ADMITS THAT THE TXWY WAS MARKED CLOSED, BUT WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ARPT.
Narrative: I ERRONEOUSLY TAXIED THROUGH A MARKED CLOSED TXWY AT CLE ON THE MORNING OF OCT/XA/97. ON CLRNC TO LAND, I FOLLOWED AN AIRLINER LNDG ON RWY 23L AND LANDED ON RWY 23R, TURNING OFF TO THE L ON TXWY K. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO HOLD ON TXWY K AT RWY 23L, DID SO, AND SO RPTED. I WAS THEN INSTRUCTED TO CROSS RWY 23L AND I PROCEEDED DIRECTLY ACROSS RWY 23L AND ONTO THE CLOSED TXWY BECAUSE I THOUGHT THAT I HAD BEEN SO INSTRUCTED. I BELIEVE THAT HER INSTRUCTIONS INDICATED THAT THE CLOSED TXWY WAS TXWY K AND THAT IT WAS MY DESIGNATED RTE. I WAS NEW TO CLE AND WAS UNAWARE OF THE ADJACENT TXWY K. THE CTLR COULD HAVE CALLED AND TURNED ME L ONTO TXWY K TO STOP MY ENTRY INTO THE CLOSED TXWY. SHE DID NOT. I THEN TURNED R ONTO TXWY L AS INSTRUCTED. I ENTERED THE RAMP WHERE I PARKED. THIS WAS MY FIRST VISIT. I WAS TOLD TO CALL THE TWR AND DID SO.
