Narrative:
Clearance was a heading assigned to intercept J92 east and then as filed. We flew to intercept J92 east of beatty VOR then on course as filed. What he meant for us was to fly and intercept J92 on course to beatty -- J92 outbound on course, I guess. We flew out of his radio range without receiving a center handoff. We found the next frequency, called our altitude, heading and intercept for J92 east of beatty. He informed us we had flown through J92 and through the restr area with no contact. We repeated our clearance, and the last communication which had happened. At first, he gave us a phone number to contact, but then came back and said ZLA said no occurrence had happened, to never mind the contact. We intercepted J92 east of beatty and proceeded on course as filed uneventfully the rest of the trip. This is just a protective letter for us in case someone changes their mind. All 3 crew members were in agreement on the interpretation of our original clearance. No incident or danger happened. (The last communication didn't help either.) by their own statement -- no occurrence happened. This is just for report and protective purposes only.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF A B727 INADVERTENTLY PENETRATED RESTR AIRSPACE DURING HIGH ALT CRUISE WHEN THEY WERE GIVEN A VECTOR TO JOIN AN AIRWAY IN CONNECTING WITH THEIR FLT PLAN RTE.
Narrative: CLRNC WAS A HDG ASSIGNED TO INTERCEPT J92 E AND THEN AS FILED. WE FLEW TO INTERCEPT J92 E OF BEATTY VOR THEN ON COURSE AS FILED. WHAT HE MEANT FOR US WAS TO FLY AND INTERCEPT J92 ON COURSE TO BEATTY -- J92 OUTBOUND ON COURSE, I GUESS. WE FLEW OUT OF HIS RADIO RANGE WITHOUT RECEIVING A CTR HDOF. WE FOUND THE NEXT FREQ, CALLED OUR ALT, HDG AND INTERCEPT FOR J92 E OF BEATTY. HE INFORMED US WE HAD FLOWN THROUGH J92 AND THROUGH THE RESTR AREA WITH NO CONTACT. WE REPEATED OUR CLRNC, AND THE LAST COM WHICH HAD HAPPENED. AT FIRST, HE GAVE US A PHONE NUMBER TO CONTACT, BUT THEN CAME BACK AND SAID ZLA SAID NO OCCURRENCE HAD HAPPENED, TO NEVER MIND THE CONTACT. WE INTERCEPTED J92 E OF BEATTY AND PROCEEDED ON COURSE AS FILED UNEVENTFULLY THE REST OF THE TRIP. THIS IS JUST A PROTECTIVE LETTER FOR US IN CASE SOMEONE CHANGES THEIR MIND. ALL 3 CREW MEMBERS WERE IN AGREEMENT ON THE INTERP OF OUR ORIGINAL CLRNC. NO INCIDENT OR DANGER HAPPENED. (THE LAST COM DIDN'T HELP EITHER.) BY THEIR OWN STATEMENT -- NO OCCURRENCE HAPPENED. THIS IS JUST FOR RPT AND PROTECTIVE PURPOSES ONLY.
