Narrative:

On rotation, a loud bang was heard, followed by a wind noise below the aircraft nose. The east&east compartment door caution light illuminated. We stayed in the traffic pattern and returned to an uneventful landing. Ground inspection showed east&east door open. Door latch mechanism checked by maintenance. Refiled and continued to pit uneventfully.
