Narrative:
Departing from mdw airport on the midway 4 departure you are to complete your initial turn within 4 DME of the airport. We completed our turn at approximately 4.3 DME. The controller asked us to verify our assigned heading. We told him it was 090 degrees and nothing more was said. We had a reduced climb power setting which I elected to use due to very cold conditions. We were required to climb to 1300 ft before beginning our turn. The slower climb delayed our turn slightly. I probably could have used a slightly higher bank angle to expedite the turn. I do not feel safety was compromised in any way.
