Narrative:
While on final approach to runway 24 at ack, the pilot asked the tower for a wind check. The tower reported 14 KTS at 280 degrees. At the point of contact with the runway the aircraft immediately began to skid into the wind and went into a ground loop. The aircraft rotated in the skid in a clockwise rotation and spun 180 degrees until stopping just 10 ft off the right side of runway. A runway light was damaged. No damage to aircraft.

Title: A PA32 PVT PLT LOSES CTL OF HIS ACFT DURING A XWIND LNDG AND TAKES OUT A RWY LIGHT AS HE GND LOOPS OFF THE RWY.
Narrative: WHILE ON FINAL APCH TO RWY 24 AT ACK, THE PLT ASKED THE TWR FOR A WIND CHK. THE TWR RPTED 14 KTS AT 280 DEGS. AT THE POINT OF CONTACT WITH THE RWY THE ACFT IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO SKID INTO THE WIND AND WENT INTO A GND LOOP. THE ACFT ROTATED IN THE SKID IN A CLOCKWISE ROTATION AND SPUN 180 DEGS UNTIL STOPPING JUST 10 FT OFF THE R SIDE OF RWY. A RWY LIGHT WAS DAMAGED. NO DAMAGE TO ACFT.
