Narrative:
Approach (localizer) to field, cleared to land when reported visual in sight. Landing lights would not activate. Circled to land (l-hand pattern) on runway 10. Called all calls on 122.7 local control frequency with no response. Saw aircraft on end of either taxiway or runway. Called intentions and landed at middle of strip. Other aircraft then announced that I had landed on taxiway. I told him I had seen him on approach, lights wouldn't come up so I landed on taxiway down in the middle of field to clear. At no time was I closer than 200-250 ft from top of aircraft at end of taxiway.
