Narrative:
Secret ramp control: after pushback on what I thought was an uncontrolled ramp, I was advised to contact ramp control on 122.95 and thereupon advised that the ramp was controled for night operations. After rechking my commercial ord airport chart (current) and the airport NOTAMS, I could find no reference to this facility. I understand that at some time in the recent past there was an accident or incident involving aircraft pushing back on this ramp. It, therefore, seems to me that if this ramp control is to be effective, its existence needs to be published on the appropriate charts.
