Narrative:

We were cleared for takeoff, no delay on runway 32. Advised of traffic on approach to runway 23R. We rolled without delay. Prior to vr, tower advised cga Y, on approach to runway 23R to go around. I looked and saw him on the go around and realized that our takeoff profile would take us very close to him. At vr, I rotated to a very shallow climb to pass below him. Tower told the cga Y to turn right nwbound, which would have put us even closer to him. I saw him in the turn and I could see that we would be very close, but would probably miss. I also realized that we would both be in the clouds shortly. I decided to turn left, without a clearance, to a 270 degree heading to assure clearance to the south of the cga Y. In the clouds, I could see the cga Y on TCASII about 1/2 mi off our right and 200 ft above us. Tower gave him a further right turn and we were clear. Talking with tower later, the problem seemed to be the cga Y speed on final of over 200 KTS.

Title: AFTER A B737 FLC BEGINS TKOF ROLL, PIC HEARS TWR INSTRUCTS A CGA JET TO EXECUTE A GAR. WHEN AIRBORNE, B737 PIC SEES CGA JET AND INITIATES A L TURN AWAY FROM THE CGA JET, CONTINUING TO MONITOR CGA ON TCASII. DISCUSSION WITH TWR, RPTR CITES FAST FINAL APCH SPD OF CGA CONTRIBUTED TO THE INCIDENT.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF, NO DELAY ON RWY 32. ADVISED OF TFC ON APCH TO RWY 23R. WE ROLLED WITHOUT DELAY. PRIOR TO VR, TWR ADVISED CGA Y, ON APCH TO RWY 23R TO GAR. I LOOKED AND SAW HIM ON THE GAR AND REALIZED THAT OUR TKOF PROFILE WOULD TAKE US VERY CLOSE TO HIM. AT VR, I ROTATED TO A VERY SHALLOW CLB TO PASS BELOW HIM. TWR TOLD THE CGA Y TO TURN R NWBOUND, WHICH WOULD HAVE PUT US EVEN CLOSER TO HIM. I SAW HIM IN THE TURN AND I COULD SEE THAT WE WOULD BE VERY CLOSE, BUT WOULD PROBABLY MISS. I ALSO REALIZED THAT WE WOULD BOTH BE IN THE CLOUDS SHORTLY. I DECIDED TO TURN L, WITHOUT A CLRNC, TO A 270 DEG HDG TO ASSURE CLRNC TO THE S OF THE CGA Y. IN THE CLOUDS, I COULD SEE THE CGA Y ON TCASII ABOUT 1/2 MI OFF OUR R AND 200 FT ABOVE US. TWR GAVE HIM A FURTHER R TURN AND WE WERE CLR. TALKING WITH TWR LATER, THE PROB SEEMED TO BE THE CGA Y SPD ON FINAL OF OVER 200 KTS.
