Narrative:

Lavatory smoke alarms sounded -- haze (smoke) was visible in coach cabin. Cockpit was called immediately by one crew member. Other crew members searched for source of smoke and secured fire extinguishers/personal breathing equipment. Cockpit quickly informed us of problem in engine and shut down. PA's were made to the passenger. Landing in nearest city occurred in 45 mins. All went extremely efficiently including an extremely smooth landing on 1 engine.

Title: AN ACR B757 CABIN ATTENDANT RPTS THAT AN ENG PROB CAUSED SMOKE TO ENTER THE CABIN AND THE ENG TO BE SHUT DOWN AND THE ACFT TO DIVERT.

Narrative: LAVATORY SMOKE ALARMS SOUNDED -- HAZE (SMOKE) WAS VISIBLE IN COACH CABIN. COCKPIT WAS CALLED IMMEDIATELY BY ONE CREW MEMBER.
