Narrative:

Repetitive airworthiness directive compliance time not carried forward to next daily logbook page correctly. Compliance time overrun by 47.9 hours. Problem was discovered while posting the airworthiness directive compliance in the aircraft records. Corrective action: mechanic notified by phone, memo sent to all personnel advising importance of carrying times forward correctly on logbook pages. All times are to be checked daily for accuracy and, if in doubt, to check last compliance time in logbook for compliance time due. This problem was caused by both the pilot and mechanic failing to verify that the times had been carried forward correctly.
