Narrative:
During routine maintenance in may/01, annual inspection, the oil pump airworthiness directive 96-09-10 was not performed on the right engine. The previous compliance statement was unclr as to whether the airworthiness directive had been complied with. According to paperwork, the oil pump was in compliance with airworthiness directive 81-18-04, but did not state as to whether it had the steel gears installed. I missed the paragraph about all aluminum gears having to be removed prior to jul/01, which resulted in the engine being operated after that date with the aluminum gear installed. Another mechanic, the one that used to do maintenance on this aircraft, brought the oversight to the owner's attention, who in turn brought it to my attention. The correct oil pump parts are now being installed, and no accident or incident ever occurred.

Title: A BEECH BE95 WAS OPERATED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH AN AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE FOR 10 MONTHS.
Narrative: DURING ROUTINE MAINT IN MAY/01, ANNUAL INSPECTION, THE OIL PUMP AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE 96-09-10 WAS NOT PERFORMED ON THE R ENG. I MISSED THE PARAGRAPH ABOUT ALL ALUMINUM GEARS HAVING TO BE REMOVED PRIOR TO JUL/01, WHICH RESULTED IN THE ENG BEING OPERATED AFTER THAT DATE WITH THE ALUMINUM GEAR INSTALLED. ANOTHER MECH, THE ONE THAT USED TO DO MAINT ON THIS ACFT, BROUGHT THE OVERSIGHT TO THE OWNER'S ATTN, WHO IN TURN BROUGHT IT TO MY ATTN. THE CORRECT OIL PUMP PARTS ARE NOW BEING INSTALLED, AND NO ACCIDENT OR INCIDENT EVER OCCURRED.
