Narrative:
After departure from eyw, I was handed off to departure for radar advisories. While proceeding northbound on V225 I heard departure advise another aircraft (position unknown) that the warning areas to the north were hot. At the time I heard this transmission, I was about 2 mins inside of W174G. I attempted contact with departure to verify if W174G was indeed hot, but was unable to. I could hear departure but possibly they couldn't hear me due to my altitude and distance. I continued north to my destination (mky).
