Narrative:
We were at FL180 and a VFR king air was at 17500 ft. ATC called the traffic and captain called traffic in sight. Captain told me it was going behind us. Center cleared us to 11000 ft when past king air. I started down. At about 17500 ft I saw a streak of left wing, level, and it must have been king air. King air pilot said 'that was close!' the center told him that we had him in visual contact. The captain had wrong traffic.

ARTCC CTLR CLRED THE RPTR DOWN FROM FL180 TO 11000 FT AFTER PASSING THE KING AIR. CTLR HAD GIVEN ADVISORY OF THE KING AIR AND INSTRUCTED THE AIRBUS TO MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION WITH THE KING AIR.
