Narrative:
After departure the nose gear would not retract, so we lowered the gear as per the QRH and returned to gsp with no incidents. Upon arrival at the gate, ramp personnel were observed removing the nose gear pin which was still installed. The captain called maintenance to confirm all that was necessary was to remove the pin. An entry was made in the logbook and a visual inspection was done by approved maintenance. During the preflight I removed the 2 main gear pins but left the nose pin in because I assumed we would need to push back because of the close proximity to an air carrier Y B737 on our left side less than 2 ft away. They pushed the B737 prior to our being ready so we taxied instead of being pushed. Taxi procedures were normal. Routinely on pushback ramp personnel remove the nose pin after pushing and show us the pin. However, since we did not push the pin issue was not done.

Title: FLC OF AN ACR MDT JET RETURNED TO LAND AFTER BEING UNABLE TO RETRACT THE NOSE GEAR. POSTFLT INSPECTION DISCLOSED THAT THE NOSE GEAR GND HANDLING PIN HAD BEEN LEFT. RPTRS WERE DISTRACTED DURING PREFLT DUE TO CLOSE PROX OF ANOTHER ACFT CAUSING THE PROBABILITY THAT THEIR ACFT WOULD HAVE TO BE PUSHED BACK AND THEREFORE, THE NOSE GEAR PIN WOULD NEED TO BE LEFT IN PLACE.
Narrative: AFTER DEP THE NOSE GEAR WOULD NOT RETRACT, SO WE LOWERED THE GEAR AS PER THE QRH AND RETURNED TO GSP WITH NO INCIDENTS. UPON ARR AT THE GATE, RAMP PERSONNEL WERE OBSERVED REMOVING THE NOSE GEAR PIN WHICH WAS STILL INSTALLED. THE CAPT CALLED MAINT TO CONFIRM ALL THAT WAS NECESSARY WAS TO REMOVE THE PIN.
