Narrative:

I was first officer on trip. After a long crew duty day, at XX30 local, I shut down the left engine and began the checklist. Captain responded 'off' to fuel levers. I thought I had previously shut off right engine and I continued the checklist. Captain was throwing switches in advance while responding to items for switches previously moved. I discovered the engine fuel lever on at about the same time ground crew got attention to see if something was wrong with auxiliary power. Lesson -- look at switch and don't get ahead.
