Narrative:
Cleared for takeoff runway 6L, did not see truck on runway until turning out at 500 ft. We had ATIS information, don't recall hearing runway 6L closed. Took off just after subsequent current ATIS, ATIS information had runway 6L closed. Clearance stated that 'ATIS information current altimeter xx.xx, cleared for takeoff runway 6L.' truck was far down runway. We didn't see it until 500 ft. Supplemental information from acn 398749: we complied with these clrncs and at about 500 ft AGL in our turn, noticed a pickup truck on runway 6L downfield. At this point the man in the truck radioed anc tower and asked why they departed an aircraft on runway 6L. In short, ATC departed us off a closed runway.

Title: AN ACR SMT FLC RPTS THAT THEY WERE CLRED AND TOOK OFF FROM A RWY THAT WAS CLOSED.
Narrative: CLRED FOR TKOF RWY 6L, DID NOT SEE TRUCK ON RWY UNTIL TURNING OUT AT 500 FT. WE HAD ATIS INFO, DON'T RECALL HEARING RWY 6L CLOSED. TOOK OFF JUST AFTER SUBSEQUENT CURRENT ATIS, ATIS INFO HAD RWY 6L CLOSED. CLRNC STATED THAT 'ATIS INFO CURRENT ALTIMETER XX.XX, CLRED FOR TKOF RWY 6L.' TRUCK WAS FAR DOWN RWY. WE DIDN'T SEE IT UNTIL 500 FT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 398749: WE COMPLIED WITH THESE CLRNCS AND AT ABOUT 500 FT AGL IN OUR TURN, NOTICED A PICKUP TRUCK ON RWY 6L DOWNFIELD. AT THIS POINT THE MAN IN THE TRUCK RADIOED ANC TWR AND ASKED WHY THEY DEPARTED AN ACFT ON RWY 6L. IN SHORT, ATC DEPARTED US OFF A CLOSED RWY.
