Narrative:
At 5000 ft approach pointed out traffic on a base for runway 36R at 4000 ft. We acknowledged that we saw the traffic. Approach asked if we had the airport. We acknowledged yes and were cleared the visual to runway 35 and to maintain visual separation from traffic. After traffic passed under the nose of the aircraft and off to the left, a descent was initiated. Immediately, we received an RA with climb indication. A climb was initiated and almost immediately the RA was resolved after climbing approximately 150 ft. A 'clear of conflict' message was seen and heard. A normal approach and landing was continued.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: CL65 ACFT WAS CLRED FOR VISUAL APCH AND TFC POINTED OUT. FLC SAW TFC AND, WHEN IT PASSED UNDER AND TO THE L, RPTR CAPT COMMENCED DSCNT. IMMEDIATELY A TCASII RA WAS ACTIVATED. FLC CLBED 150 FT AND THE ALERT STOPPED.
Narrative: AT 5000 FT APCH POINTED OUT TFC ON A BASE FOR RWY 36R AT 4000 FT. WE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT WE SAW THE TFC. APCH ASKED IF WE HAD THE ARPT. WE ACKNOWLEDGED YES AND WERE CLRED THE VISUAL TO RWY 35 AND TO MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION FROM TFC. AFTER TFC PASSED UNDER THE NOSE OF THE ACFT AND OFF TO THE L, A DSCNT WAS INITIATED. IMMEDIATELY, WE RECEIVED AN RA WITH CLB INDICATION. A CLB WAS INITIATED AND ALMOST IMMEDIATELY THE RA WAS RESOLVED AFTER CLBING APPROX 150 FT. A 'CLR OF CONFLICT' MESSAGE WAS SEEN AND HEARD. A NORMAL APCH AND LNDG WAS CONTINUED.
