Narrative:
Departing dfw we received what we thought was a right turn to heading 340 degrees. We initiated turn then confirmed clearance. ATC said we were cleared left turn to 340 degrees and to now roll out on a 250 degree heading, then said no problem.

Title: AN ACR MD80 FLC TURNED THE WRONG DIRECTION TO AN ASSIGNED HDG. THE DEP CTLR NOTED THE ERROR AND CHANGED THE ASSIGNED HDG TO PROVIDE SEPARATION.
Narrative: DEPARTING DFW WE RECEIVED WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS A R TURN TO HDG 340 DEGS. WE INITIATED TURN THEN CONFIRMED CLRNC. ATC SAID WE WERE CLRED L TURN TO 340 DEGS AND TO NOW ROLL OUT ON A 250 DEG HDG, THEN SAID NO PROB.
