Narrative:

The 7 mi flight from 3AU, ks, was uneventful except for the wind velocity -- high 20 mph gusting into the low 40's. The pilot became focused on executing a smooth, short-field landing against the strong headwinds. That focus distraction the pilot from his normal gumps check and he missed lowering the gear. The landing was nearly perfect, except for the lack of gear. The lesson for this pilot: fly the plane properly first and good, gear-down lndgs will follow. Damage to the aircraft was not substantial per NTSB part 830 and thus not rptable.
