Narrative:
We were #2 for departure at yvr on runway 26L. The controller cleared the aircraft ahead for takeoff and they responded that they were not ready. In order to get us on the runway, the controller asked if we could depart from intersection D5. I gave the captain thumbs up because intersection D5 is only approximately 400 ft less runway for departure and we were approximately 40000 pounds under gross takeoff weight. The only problem is that, after takeoff, I looked in the performance handbook and realized we did not have data for an intersection D5 takeoff. We had more than enough runway. However, we should technically have the data published to depart from any intersection. Supplemental information from acn 399831: I feel the problem arose by getting into too big of a hurry. We should have told ATC to stand by while we verified that the information was in our book. I just assumed that the information was there, which I shouldn't have.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: UNAUTH INTXN TKOF BY A B737-400 FLC. THEY HAD NO DATA FOR THAT TKOF PROC. TXWY WAS BLOCKED AHEAD BY ANOTHER ACFT NOT YET READY FOR TKOF.
Narrative: WE WERE #2 FOR DEP AT YVR ON RWY 26L. THE CTLR CLRED THE ACFT AHEAD FOR TKOF AND THEY RESPONDED THAT THEY WERE NOT READY. IN ORDER TO GET US ON THE RWY, THE CTLR ASKED IF WE COULD DEPART FROM INTXN D5. I GAVE THE CAPT THUMBS UP BECAUSE INTXN D5 IS ONLY APPROX 400 FT LESS RWY FOR DEP AND WE WERE APPROX 40000 LBS UNDER GROSS TKOF WT. THE ONLY PROB IS THAT, AFTER TKOF, I LOOKED IN THE PERFORMANCE HANDBOOK AND REALIZED WE DID NOT HAVE DATA FOR AN INTXN D5 TKOF. WE HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH RWY. HOWEVER, WE SHOULD TECHNICALLY HAVE THE DATA PUBLISHED TO DEPART FROM ANY INTXN. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 399831: I FEEL THE PROB AROSE BY GETTING INTO TOO BIG OF A HURRY. WE SHOULD HAVE TOLD ATC TO STAND BY WHILE WE VERIFIED THAT THE INFO WAS IN OUR BOOK. I JUST ASSUMED THAT THE INFO WAS THERE, WHICH I SHOULDN'T HAVE.
