Narrative:
Landed runway 9R, turned off and told to hold short of runway 12. Held short, but was moving slowly. Tower said cross runway 12 because we were not holding short. We had not gotten on runway 12, but hurried across it with new clearance. All 3 pilots agree we held short. I believe tower's perception was wrong, but area is confusing with multiple txwys and runways, and it was dark. Supplemental information from acn 400373: we had landed on runway 9R at mia and taxied off at the high speed (taxiway V). We were cleared to 'hold short of runway 12' on the parallel. As we were holding short of runway 12 and well clear of the runway, tower gave us a clearance to cross runway 12 and 'expedite, aircraft on short final.' from where we were, there was no conflict -- tower thought otherwise. Is this a trend with mia?
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN ALLEGED RWY INCURSION AT MIA BY A SLOWLY MOVING L1011 AT NIGHT. TWR CTLR CLRS THEM ACROSS THE ACTIVE RWY WHEN HE FEELS THAT THERE IS A RWY PROB FOR LNDG TFC.
Narrative: LANDED RWY 9R, TURNED OFF AND TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 12. HELD SHORT, BUT WAS MOVING SLOWLY. TWR SAID CROSS RWY 12 BECAUSE WE WERE NOT HOLDING SHORT. WE HAD NOT GOTTEN ON RWY 12, BUT HURRIED ACROSS IT WITH NEW CLRNC. ALL 3 PLTS AGREE WE HELD SHORT. I BELIEVE TWR'S PERCEPTION WAS WRONG, BUT AREA IS CONFUSING WITH MULTIPLE TXWYS AND RWYS, AND IT WAS DARK. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 400373: WE HAD LANDED ON RWY 9R AT MIA AND TAXIED OFF AT THE HIGH SPD (TXWY V). WE WERE CLRED TO 'HOLD SHORT OF RWY 12' ON THE PARALLEL. AS WE WERE HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 12 AND WELL CLR OF THE RWY, TWR GAVE US A CLRNC TO CROSS RWY 12 AND 'EXPEDITE, ACFT ON SHORT FINAL.' FROM WHERE WE WERE, THERE WAS NO CONFLICT -- TWR THOUGHT OTHERWISE. IS THIS A TREND WITH MIA?
