Narrative:
On a visual approach into hef, I was cleared to land on runway 34L. I was also advised of traffic that was to follow me to the same runway. Turning close left base for runway 34L I was distracted looking to my left for the traffic to see how close we were. Turning final and still looking for traffic I spotted the aircraft at the same time lining up on very short final. Thinking I was looking at runway 34L I landed on runway 34R. I realized my mistake after clearing the runway. 2 major factors contributed to my mistake. One, this was the first time I had landed at this airport and was totally unfamiliar with the airport. Two, I was hurrying my approach due to the traffic that was following me. Corrective future actions will consist of a better familiarization with unfamiliar airports and not hurrying when it is not necessary.

Title: C425 PLT LANDS ON WRONG RWY AT HEF, VA.
Narrative: ON A VISUAL APCH INTO HEF, I WAS CLRED TO LAND ON RWY 34L. I WAS ALSO ADVISED OF TFC THAT WAS TO FOLLOW ME TO THE SAME RWY. TURNING CLOSE L BASE FOR RWY 34L I WAS DISTRACTED LOOKING TO MY L FOR THE TFC TO SEE HOW CLOSE WE WERE. TURNING FINAL AND STILL LOOKING FOR TFC I SPOTTED THE ACFT AT THE SAME TIME LINING UP ON VERY SHORT FINAL. THINKING I WAS LOOKING AT RWY 34L I LANDED ON RWY 34R. I REALIZED MY MISTAKE AFTER CLRING THE RWY. 2 MAJOR FACTORS CONTRIBUTED TO MY MISTAKE. ONE, THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD LANDED AT THIS ARPT AND WAS TOTALLY UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ARPT. TWO, I WAS HURRYING MY APCH DUE TO THE TFC THAT WAS FOLLOWING ME. CORRECTIVE FUTURE ACTIONS WILL CONSIST OF A BETTER FAMILIARIZATION WITH UNFAMILIAR ARPTS AND NOT HURRYING WHEN IT IS NOT NECESSARY.
