Narrative:
The first officer was the PF and the flight ewr-mem was cleared to depart via the arthur kill SID from ewr. Upon reaching 2.3 DME I began a turn to 260 degrees but the captain insisted I roll out on a 220 degree heading. I complied. The departure controller asked if we were 'flying the SID today or what?' the captain had looked at the wrong SID for the heading. There was no conflict with other aircraft and the flight progressed normally. As a result of this occurrence, I plan to thoroughly brief the SID prior to takeoff or as part of the clearance.
