Narrative:
IOE for captain. Third leg second international trip. All ok through line up. Just at the 80 KT call the master caution light came on with engine oil filter #1 on engine indicator display screen. I called for the abort at that time. The captain did an exemplary job. All procedures went as trained for and the aircraft system operated as they should. I coordinated with lgw ground control and FBO for taxi to gate and maintenance. Passenger and flight attendants were informed as soon as possible of the status and explanations given to calm the situation. Dispatch was notified and kept informed. Note. The best way to do this at gatwick is with ACARS. The phone was lots of trouble. After maintenance and MEL magic we were again safely on our way. Recent MD11 shutdowns, fuel dumps, and engine out lndgs resulting from this same malfunction influenced my decision to abort at the 80 KT call. Great crew action. Pilots and flight attendants, dispatch, and on the spot maintenance support throughout this incident.
