Narrative:
At beginning of takeoff roll, runway 31C mdw, engine #3 low oil pressure/filter bypass light illuminated, then extinguished. Rejected takeoff less than 60 KTS, notified tower and flight attendants. Cleared runway. During taxi back to gate, flight crew contacted maintenance, referred to MEL, parked aircraft on taxiway and ran up engine #3 twice. All engine gauges (oil pressure, oil temperature and oil quantity) normal. Light did not reilluminate. Discussed with maintenance. Crew and maintenance agreed to a second takeoff. Takeoff successful with rest of flight uneventful.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B727 CREW, ON TKOF ROLL AT MDW, SAW A #3 ENG LOW OIL PRESSURE FILTER BYPASS LIGHT ILLUMINATE, THEN EXTINGUISH. THEY ABORTED THE TKOF, PARKED, AND CONSULTED MAINT. THE PROB DID NOT RECUR WITH TESTING, SO THEY DEPARTED.
Narrative: AT BEGINNING OF TKOF ROLL, RWY 31C MDW, ENG #3 LOW OIL PRESSURE/FILTER BYPASS LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THEN EXTINGUISHED. REJECTED TKOF LESS THAN 60 KTS, NOTIFIED TWR AND FLT ATTENDANTS. CLRED RWY. DURING TAXI BACK TO GATE, FLC CONTACTED MAINT, REFERRED TO MEL, PARKED ACFT ON TXWY AND RAN UP ENG #3 TWICE. ALL ENG GAUGES (OIL PRESSURE, OIL TEMP AND OIL QUANTITY) NORMAL. LIGHT DID NOT REILLUMINATE. DISCUSSED WITH MAINT. CREW AND MAINT AGREED TO A SECOND TKOF. TKOF SUCCESSFUL WITH REST OF FLT UNEVENTFUL.
