Narrative:
We were rerouted out of atl to fly flight XXX (atl-mia-fll) for an on time departure. The flight departed the gate 43 mins late (XX28 EDT) due to connecting passenger. As we taxied out we noticed lightning in the sky to the west of the airport. As we taxied into position on runway 26R, we got our first look at the WX approaching atl on the radar. It was determined that after takeoff we would turn immediately to the north to avoid the WX. I felt with the given conditions (tired, late night, WX, reroute) we needed no other distractions to complete this maneuver and avoid the WX. At about 100-110 KTS on takeoff we got an EICAS message 'left forward entry door.' I made a split second decision to abort the takeoff. We stopped with approximately 2000 ft of runway remaining. Aircraft was taxied back to the gate and turned over to maintenance. As it turned out the WX hit the airport about the time we got to the gate and it was severe. Because of the darkness we were unable to judge the rapid movement of this storm and its intensity.

Title: FLC OF B757 ABORTS TKOF WHEN EICAS INDICATES L FORWARD ENTRY DOOR HAS A PROB.
Narrative: WE WERE REROUTED OUT OF ATL TO FLY FLT XXX (ATL-MIA-FLL) FOR AN ON TIME DEP. THE FLT DEPARTED THE GATE 43 MINS LATE (XX28 EDT) DUE TO CONNECTING PAX. AS WE TAXIED OUT WE NOTICED LIGHTNING IN THE SKY TO THE W OF THE ARPT. AS WE TAXIED INTO POS ON RWY 26R, WE GOT OUR FIRST LOOK AT THE WX APCHING ATL ON THE RADAR. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT AFTER TKOF WE WOULD TURN IMMEDIATELY TO THE N TO AVOID THE WX. I FELT WITH THE GIVEN CONDITIONS (TIRED, LATE NIGHT, WX, REROUTE) WE NEEDED NO OTHER DISTRACTIONS TO COMPLETE THIS MANEUVER AND AVOID THE WX. AT ABOUT 100-110 KTS ON TKOF WE GOT AN EICAS MESSAGE 'L FORWARD ENTRY DOOR.' I MADE A SPLIT SECOND DECISION TO ABORT THE TKOF. WE STOPPED WITH APPROX 2000 FT OF RWY REMAINING. ACFT WAS TAXIED BACK TO THE GATE AND TURNED OVER TO MAINT. AS IT TURNED OUT THE WX HIT THE ARPT ABOUT THE TIME WE GOT TO THE GATE AND IT WAS SEVERE. BECAUSE OF THE DARKNESS WE WERE UNABLE TO JUDGE THE RAPID MOVEMENT OF THIS STORM AND ITS INTENSITY.
