Narrative:
I experienced an abnormal fuel flow while en route. Upon leaning the fuel, the engine ran rough. I decided to land at the nearest airport (elko, nv). I tried 4 or 5 times to contact the tower before arrival and got no answer. The engine was still running rough and I couldn't reach anyone on the unicom frequency. I flew over the airport at 2000 ft AGL and didn't see any traffic and made a short approach and landed. When I entered the FBO I was told to call the tower. The tower operator wanted answers. I told him what had happened and gave him my name, address, social security number and home phone. I had the local mechanic work on my plane and I checked my radio and noticed that I had transposed the last 2 numbers for the tower -- 125.6 instead of 126.5. I called the tower and told them what I had found. I guess I was more upset than I realized.

Title: AN SMA PLT DIVERTS AND ENTERS INTO EKO, NV, CLASS D AND LANDS WITHOUT HAVING MADE CONTACT WITH EKO TWR. THE PLT HAD EXPERIENCED AN ENG PROB AND HAD USED THE WRONG FREQ FOR THE TWR.
Narrative: I EXPERIENCED AN ABNORMAL FUEL FLOW WHILE ENRTE. UPON LEANING THE FUEL, THE ENG RAN ROUGH. I DECIDED TO LAND AT THE NEAREST ARPT (ELKO, NV). I TRIED 4 OR 5 TIMES TO CONTACT THE TWR BEFORE ARR AND GOT NO ANSWER. THE ENG WAS STILL RUNNING ROUGH AND I COULDN'T REACH ANYONE ON THE UNICOM FREQ. I FLEW OVER THE ARPT AT 2000 FT AGL AND DIDN'T SEE ANY TFC AND MADE A SHORT APCH AND LANDED. WHEN I ENTERED THE FBO I WAS TOLD TO CALL THE TWR. THE TWR OPERATOR WANTED ANSWERS. I TOLD HIM WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND GAVE HIM MY NAME, ADDRESS, SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER AND HOME PHONE. I HAD THE LCL MECH WORK ON MY PLANE AND I CHKED MY RADIO AND NOTICED THAT I HAD TRANSPOSED THE LAST 2 NUMBERS FOR THE TWR -- 125.6 INSTEAD OF 126.5. I CALLED THE TWR AND TOLD THEM WHAT I HAD FOUND. I GUESS I WAS MORE UPSET THAN I REALIZED.
