Narrative:
After a noisy hotel night's rest on a trip that got interrupted on every day of the 4 day trip. We were called 25 mins prior to our show time and told our 1ST flight was canceled and we were to ferry an aircraft to our maintenance facility. Upon arrival at airport, I talked with the mechanic about the status of the aircraft. He proceeded to explain what was wrong. He was very 'chatty' and kept talking while I reviewed my part 91 release. When I reviewed it, I missed a NOTAM about a portion of the runway being closed. It is a 12000 ft long runway and the south 6000 ft was closed. We departed and heard another plane call on the radio that had just departed our destination. I asked the pilot about the WX and he said it was fine. We acquired the airport visually when we were southwest and entered a left base to the runway. We noticed something to the right on the taxiway and determined it was a truck. Not unusual at this uncontrolled field. We watched the truck and as we crossed the threshold we noticed a faded yellow 'X' on the runway. We both mentioned it but it did not make sense that the runway is closed (other aircraft just departed). Before we could decide to go around we touched down. I then saw the barricades 6000 ft down the runway. I considered a touch and go but could not judge the distance so I stopped the aircraft. We then realized it was the closed portion. Factors are: being tired, being hurried due to approaching WX and the improper markings on the runway. An 'X' means the entire runway is closed. That did not make sense though, so we landed. It was a displaced threshold. Supplemental information from acn 405542: the captain was on the phone with dispatch several times to correct our release. We were cleared for a visual, so the captain canceled our IFR and we set up for an approach to runway 1. The captain contacted company and made several unanswered calls to unicom. In the past they have normally always answered. The sun was in our eyes, and as we turned base to final we noticed an object off to the right of the runway threshold, we identified it as a truck. Our attention was focused on making sure that he did not cross the runway. The captain spoke with the contractors, whom were not overly concerned, they removed the barriers and we taxied to our hangar. There was no damage to property, personnel and equipment. The runway was clear of any debris. The 'X' on the runway was plastic held down by rocks on a concrete surface making it hard to see with the sun reflecting off it. The airport is uncontrolled and the only other times I have landed there were at night with snow on the runways. The 'X' looked like it was once there but had been partially removed, there was no way to confirm this as there had always been snow covering in the past.

WE ACQUIRED THE ARPT VISUALLY WHEN WE WERE SW AND ENTERED A L BASE TO THE RWY. WE NOTICED SOMETHING TO THE R ON THE TXWY AND DETERMINED IT WAS A TRUCK. NOT UNUSUAL AT THIS UNCTLED FIELD. WE WATCHED THE TRUCK AND AS WE CROSSED THE THRESHOLD WE NOTICED A FADED YELLOW 'X' ON THE RWY. WE BOTH MENTIONED IT BUT IT DID NOT MAKE SENSE THAT THE RWY IS CLOSED (OTHER ACFT JUST DEPARTED).
