Narrative:
Lost the #2 engine during takeoff. There was a loud noise and the plane vibrated. We dumped fuel and returned to dallas. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that the flight crew informed the cabin attendants of the emergency shortly after takeoff. Cabin attendants made passenger announcement and aircraft landed without incident. Aircraft was taken OTS. Flight and original crew continued with replacement aircraft.

Title: ON TKOF ONBOARD B727-200, #2 ENG FAILED, ACFT DUMPED FUEL AND RETURN LAND FOR MAINT WITHOUT INCIDENT. ACFT WAS TAKEN OTS.
Narrative: LOST THE #2 ENG DURING TKOF. THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE AND THE PLANE VIBRATED. WE DUMPED FUEL AND RETURNED TO DALLAS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT THE FLC INFORMED THE CABIN ATTENDANTS OF THE EMER SHORTLY AFTER TKOF. CABIN ATTENDANTS MADE PAX ANNOUNCEMENT AND ACFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. ACFT WAS TAKEN OTS. FLT AND ORIGINAL CREW CONTINUED WITH REPLACEMENT ACFT.
