Narrative:
Axv localizer was notamed OTS during planning of trip. On day of trip axv had no NOTAMS, however localizer was OTS. Glad we were in VMC conditions. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that when flight planning the night before his departure he received the NOTAM regarding the OTS localizer. The NOTAM was not present the morning of the flight. It was discovered OTS on the approach. When discussing the incident in FBO the reporter was informed that the localizer has been OTS for weeks. He does not know if it is currently operating.
