Narrative:
We were at 2;000 ft vectored and cleared for the ILS 24 in isp. The CDI came alive and I set the next altitude of 1;500 ft. The captain started his descent as we were turning inbound on the localizer. The controller came on and said we were low and left of course. We climbed back to 2;000 ft; took a stronger intercept to get the course back. When all was checked and doublechecked; we continued the approach to an uneventful landing. Both pilots make sure the CDI is locked before a descent is made.
