Narrative:
En route from mdw to jfk, the company phone-patched us and requested that we contact them by telephone upon arrival at jfk. At that point we took a close look at all of the paperwork and discovered that the tail number on the computer generated flight plan did not match the rest of the paperwork or the airplane that we were flying! Therefore, the basic operating weight and the burn was not correct, close, but not accurate -- no limits were exceeded. We had a 30 min turn with an airplane change. I feel that this situation could be a hazard to safety and under extreme conditions performance limitations could be exceeded. On quick turns an airplane change should be avoided.

Title: AN ACR FLT LEAVES MDW WITH THE WRONG ACFT TAIL NUMBER ON THE COMPUTER FLT PLAN. THE FO STATED THAT THE BASIC OPERATING WT AND THE FUEL BURN WAS THEN INCORRECT BUT THAT NO LIMITS WERE EXCEEDED.
