Narrative:
Center cleared us to cross fever intersection at 6000 ft, and we did not descend to 6000 ft. When handed over to regional approach, we were asked if center had left us at 12000 ft. At that time we forgot about the descent clearance and we told them yes. Regional approach took us off the STAR and descended us accordingly to integrate us with the flow into dfw. The problem, I believe, was caused by improper prioritizing and not setting the autoplt immediately when given the descent clearance, as per company procedure. If company procedure was followed as intended this would have been prevented.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ATR72 CREW DID NOT DSND TO MAKE A CLRED XING RESTR.
Narrative: CTR CLRED US TO CROSS FEVER INTXN AT 6000 FT, AND WE DID NOT DSND TO 6000 FT. WHEN HANDED OVER TO REGIONAL APCH, WE WERE ASKED IF CTR HAD LEFT US AT 12000 FT. AT THAT TIME WE FORGOT ABOUT THE DSCNT CLRNC AND WE TOLD THEM YES. REGIONAL APCH TOOK US OFF THE STAR AND DSNDED US ACCORDINGLY TO INTEGRATE US WITH THE FLOW INTO DFW. THE PROB, I BELIEVE, WAS CAUSED BY IMPROPER PRIORITIZING AND NOT SETTING THE AUTOPLT IMMEDIATELY WHEN GIVEN THE DSCNT CLRNC, AS PER COMPANY PROC. IF COMPANY PROC WAS FOLLOWED AS INTENDED THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED.
